Frequently Asked Questions

BarPoker.com hosts a series of tournaments on a weekly basis at locations throughout each state. Players at each location earn points in hopes of qualifying for our tournaments (see leagues). Legalities
  1. What does it cost to play?
Nothing…absolutely nothing. There are no drink or food requirements. We would, however, encourage you to support your host location.

  2. Where can I play?
See our online schedule for a complete schedule of weekly tournaments.

  3. Is it legal?
Yes. By removing the buy-in or purchase requirements, and placing no point value on the chips, we’ve removed the “consideration” aspect that would conflict with state laws. Also see our legalities section.

  4. What type of poker do you play?
It’s “No-Limit Texas Hold’em.” You’ll be playing up to 100 or more players in a single qualification tournament. Most locations will have 2 rounds of play. You’ll earn points just for playing, more points if you place in the top 8, and prizes for our winners!

  5. How do I keep track of my points?
By checking our online standings, which have the top players listed for each league. If you are not among those top players, you can find your score using your player ID number. Point totals are updated as they are received and entered.

My name is Max Reele.
BarPoker awarded me a World Series of Poker Main Event Entry for winning a 2005/2006 BarPoker tournament. During the 2006 WSOP Main Event, I finished 59th in a field of more than 8700 players. I took home almost $125,000.00 in prize money. BarPoker got me there. It’s as simple as that. BarPoker is for real. It could happen for you as well by playing BarPoker.

Thanks BarPoker
